Your Guide to German Courses

 

Please note:

Students with previous knowledge of German have to take a placement test before joining one of our German courses.

 

The Language Center's German Language Program offers a number of courses for international students and academics who want to

  • improve their knowledge of the German language,
  • acquire basic German language skills during their stay at RWTH Aachen University
  • or need to take participate in German language courses as part of their curriculum.

Knowledge of the German language makes communicating in both an academic and a social environment much easier and can therefore help the integration process.

The Language Center offers German courses at every level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages for various groups from different countries.

  • You are a foreign applicant to German universities and need to pass DSH? At the Language Center, you can take the exam. Please go to DSH.
  • You are a Master student of an international course taught in English? You can find information on German courses in RWTH German Courses.
  • Are you an Erasmus student and would like to attend a course in the DEUTSCHinternational program? Further information can be found in  DEUTSCHinternational.
  • Are you an international student, PhD student or visiting academic? You can acquire knowledge of German or improve your existing German language skills in RWTH German Courses.
